In literacy we are given two weeks two finish a rubric with a fair amount of activities one of the activities we are given is we have to write a letter to an Olympic athlete I chose Lauren Jackson she plays in the women’s basketball and she is a great player. The letter had to be a whole page long, I enjoyed this activity because the letters are actually going to be sent to this athlete I told this athlete a lot of things about me and how I play basketball too. My letter is getting sent tonight and I am hoping for a reply.
Speaking and listeng reflection
In literacy our teachers decided that we should do this performance where we had to act out an advertisement our group decided to do popcorn I enjoyed this activity because it was one of those activities that is a break from hard work. We learnt a few things like how to project our voice but we mostly learnt how to include everyone, at the end it turned out pretty well and some of our feedback was very constructive.
A few things we could improve on were facing the audience a bit more and being clearer with our voices so the audience could understand us. I could take my learning further by being more creative and adding some humour.
In literacy we are still doing rubrics but I have got a lot better at it because I am using my time a lot more effectively, but we have workshops now for example Miss Mahon runs the writing workshop, Mr Dando runs the reading workshop and Mrs Murnane runs the blogging because Mrs Rayson left because she had a baby. Today I did the writing workshop with Miss Mahon and we were learning how to write a classification of an information report better and it worked because my group and I wrote a really good one. In the blogging workshop we made edmodo accounts where we can show our blog to the world more. In reading workshop we are reading a refugee book it is interesting.

Callum a great post on what you have been doing in Literacy. I hope Lauren Jackson does get your letter because it was a great letter.
Thank you
